Editorial Standards — How Luxury Phinisi Komodo Vets a Boat

Luxury Phinisi Komodo lists crewed phinisi charters in Komodo waters. This page explains what is checked before a vessel appears here.

Phinisi is a build type, not a quality grade

The word covers everything from a genuinely luxurious modern build with proper systems to a converted working hull with cabins added. Photographs flatten that difference completely. Our listings therefore state the build year and yard where known, the actual cabin configuration rather than a maximum capacity, the generator and air-conditioning arrangement, and whether there is engine redundancy for multi-day itineraries.

What we verify before listing

Safety equipment is counted against real passenger capacity: lifejackets, liferafts, and a serviceable, crewed tender. Clearance and passenger-carrying documentation is confirmed through the harbourmaster at the operating port. Park access, fees and ranger requirements follow the Komodo National Park authority, with the date we last confirmed them. A boat that will not evidence the safety counts in writing is not listed.

What we do not claim

We are a listing and booking desk, not the operator, not a marine surveyor and not a certification body. Our checks are the checks described here and nothing more. No page is bylined to an individual or carries crew credentials. Corrections go through the contact page.
